BrandGuard was in Vinexpo! One of the biggest international wine and spirits event, four vibrant days in Bordeaux-France, and about 45,000 people from all over the world.

Here a first feedback from Guillaume Deglise, the CEO of WineExpo.

We did more than 2000 meetings “One to Wine Meetings” and this is only the beginning, we will continue to offer additional services, we have a role in this sector, helping producers to explore and find new markets

Guillaume Deglise announced that the record of 150 countries attending the show has been reached, with China as the 1st foreign country ahead of the US in second place. «Big markets are really important for us, and this year we gave a lot to Asia, the USA and northern Europe. We met those buyers and feedbacks from them were really positive. While the American market is still growing, with China, “the European countries continue their decline.”

Vinexpo 2017 answered to new trends in the « WOW area » (for World of Organic Wines):

WOW was a real success, it exceeded our expectations, we adapted ourselves to the needs “

“There is also the trend for Vinexpo to move towards to smaller structures.” The conferences were also very successful

First about the warming and Climate Change Conference with the Wine Spectator :

  •  The conference about Riesling
  • The Brexit Conference
  • The Vinexpo agreement with Alibaba. A real event for more notoriety in China


“Vinexpo is not a fair like any other, Vinexpo is an actor in the wine and spirits industry, for the ones who are not able to sell, we bring them content.

It’s not an easy event to manage.. Like a city, with 30000 people a day. Guillaume Deglise had a special thanks to the guards and security forces who ensure the security of the exhibition during the 4 days, also during to the evenings in town, in a context of « french emergency situation ».

What are insights for the next editions :

We will change the date, and think about a new format to allow us to work better. “

“I feel sometimes that this work has been swept away by these heat wave. There are also insufficient tramway trains, “issues that will be reviewed and improved by 2019.

Vinexpo will be in Asia to celebrate his 20th anniversary, in Tokyo the 15th&16th of October, New York the 3rd and 4th March 2018 (USA are the world’s leading consumering market).
